Bertoncelj’s comics draw our attention with their “underground” drawing style, but they are also very compact and with a reflective narrative. The characters in his stories are mainly anthropomorphic animals, children and historical personalities. In the first story here, Austerity Farm, inspired by the dystopian novel by George Orwell, he analyses the manipulative human nature by effectively locating it in the world of farm animals. In the second story, Robot, Mummy and Vampire, he is testing our ability to cope with a story without completion. The story starts very promising, as an allegory which involves strange protagonists, but the open end leaves us puzzled.
